2021 D.M.L. Reserve Pinot Noir Mornington Peninsula – D’Anna Middleton Lewis (DML VIN) is a partnership between the D’Anna family (Hoddles Creek), Sam Middleton (Mount Mary) and Jordan Lewis. It focuses on single site regional Pinot Noir with the first vintage being released in June 2019.Through their love of wine, a friendship between the D’Anna boys and Jordan Lewis evolved from not only drinking great bottles of wine, but also exploring the possibility of working together with select parcels of single vineyard fruit from selected growers and establishing a project that highlighted these regional differences. During this time, a joint friendship with Sam Middleton, evolved and Sam was included in the project.The very first release of this Reserve Pinot. Made only in exceptional vintages, where they believe certain vineyards or particular barrels deserve special recognition. This year release sees the wine crafted from the top 3 barrels from a single Mornington Peninsula vineyard.The ‘21 DML Reserve shows elegance, purity and poise. The nose exhibits aromas of cranberry, stewed strawberry and plum along with a hint of well integrated french oak. The palate is defined by the power and intensity of fruit generated from the 2021 vintage. The fruit power is framed by subtle but persistent tannin, adding focus and drive to the exceptional length of flavour.
